Central region of India is the main heartland of India. With a rich cultural heritage and traditional customs the region has several places to boast of. Visiting in the heart of India has always been in my must see travel itinerary and so I chose to tour the Central India.
Central India tourism has every fascinating tourism spots from plains, mountains, holy cities, plateaus, historical heritage and so on. My travel began with Madhya Pradesh which is at the centre of India. The state brings to light many exquisite monuments, carved temples, forts and palaces. Predominantly a plateau region it has many ranges, temples, forts and monuments.
Madhya Pradesh tourism has the exquisitely carved Khajuraho temples, capital city Bhopal, Bandhavgarh national park and much more.
The wildlife at Bandhavgarh park is best enjoyed with a jungle safari; one can spot White tigers, Nilgai, Chital, Chinkara, wild boar and other variants. Next travel place was Chhattisgarh- the state has dense forests and a blend of tribal and scenic tourism. The caves here are a major highlight of Chhattisgarh tourism; the popular one being Kutumsar. The other attractions are Kawardha town, Bastar, Chitrakoot, Kanker and so on.
The other places in Central India tourism are:
Varanasi- It is the oldest city and one of the holy pilgrimages. The several ghats around the River Ganga are the major tourist attractions here. The place is renowned for performing the last rites and the mortal remains are immersed in the Ganga.
Gwalior- A historically rich place famous for its palaces, temples and monuments. The Gwalior fort is a major attraction here; this massive fort is built on a hilltop. It encloses temples, palaces and numerous water tanks. Amongst the fort, the Teli ka mandir, Saas Bahu temple and Man Singh palace are the most amazing.
Indore– Is a historic city known for its temples and monuments. It is known as the food city, Indore has a great variety and taste in food which offers multiple cuisines. It is an important industrial city in central India. The city is also famed for its unique handicraft article. Omkareshwar, Bada Ganpati temple, Kanch mandir, Rajwada and so on.
